Light Peel Gallery
The gallery is composed of three different peeling motions that together gently grafts light along the walls of the space and constructs an ambient environment. The first motion is peeling the ceiling up from the wall on the southern end, and introducing a platform to reflect light into the ceiling within. Next, the northern wall is bent and peeled outwards from the edge of the ceiling so that the gap formed above can subtly filter light down the sloped wall and onto the artwork. The last motion is inserting a chimney onto the eastern edge, which creates an immense vertical space from which light fully dilutes before reaching the main gallery space. The wood floors and clean plaster walls enhance the quality of the light and thus bring focus to the works placed within.
